All Financial Transactions at Bank Branches Now Possible with Mobile ID, No Physical Resident Registration Card Needed
KB Kookmin Bank announced that starting from the 7th, it will add the mobile resident registration card to its 'Mobile ID Service,' which allows all financial transactions at bank branches without a physical ID.
The mobile resident registration card is a digital ID that can be issued through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's Mobile ID app. It has been piloted in nine local governments including Sejong City, and the service is scheduled to expand nationwide on the 14th.
The 'Mobile ID Service' is a service that allows customers to submit a mobile ID via QR authentication at KB Kookmin Bank branches to conduct banking transactions. Following the introduction of the mobile driver's license in 2022, the service is now also available using the mobile resident registration card.
By using the 'Mobile ID Service,' customers can perform all banking tasks with a mobile ID that holds the same validity as a physical ID, including ▲opening and closing bank accounts, ▲loan principal and interest repayments, ▲foreign exchange services such as currency exchange and overseas remittance, and ▲various notifications and reports.
A KB Kookmin Bank official stated, "Going forward, KB Kookmin Bank will continue to provide differentiated customer experiences so that customers can use financial services at branches more quickly and conveniently."
