The approach involves embedding 'AI-ZATION (artificial intelligence integration)' across all sectors of city administration and improving the administrative DNA of all employees to be AI-centered.

The discussion focused on administrative and financial support for the private sector and the commercialization of AI technologies that citizens can directly experience to innovate daily life. Seoul City plans to officially start customized AI education for all employees and systematically establish processes for AI utilization in administrative fields.

Mayor Oh emphasized, "The gap with major competing countries has widened due to reduced investment and talent pools in both government and private sectors," adding, "It is time for Seoul, the economic center of South Korea, to take the lead with the goal of leveraging the numerous companies, universities, and research personnel it possesses to lay the foundation for change." He continued, "A crisis can become an opportunity," and urged the attending executives, "Make Seoul the cradle of AI, mobilize all administrative capabilities to ensure Seoul plays a faithful supporting role in national competition, and fulfill your duties with a sense of mission not to fall behind in the AI race."

Discussions were also held on AI industry promotion policies and utilization plans being pursued by related departments and bureaus. The Economic Office shared the vision for 'Global AI Innovation Leading City, Seoul' and the preparation status for 'AI SEOUL 2025,' scheduled for the 11th. The Digital City Bureau unveiled upgraded administrative services incorporating AI technologies, such as the tentative 'Citizen AI Agent (Voice Assistant),' which helps digitally vulnerable groups like seniors operate public apps and use services by voice alone. Additionally, the Seoul Digital Foundation presented its role as an AI control tower in administration and plans for implementing advanced AI governance.

The attending department heads freely discussed AI project plans and utilization ideas applicable across all administrative fields, including women, welfare, tourism, and transportation. They also shared educational curricula and programs to strengthen the AI capabilities of Seoul City employees.

Meanwhile, Seoul City will announce the 'AI SEOUL Vision' on the 11th of next week, which includes strategies for creating an AI industrial ecosystem and nurturing AI talent.
