KOSCOM, a securities IT specialist company, has launched a mobile bond information service called 'BOND CHECK.' As individual investors' interest in bond investment is increasing recently, the service aims to provide advanced information accessible via a mobile app, catering to everyone from beginners to professional investors.
BOND CHECK was developed to allow general investors to easily utilize the premium bond data from KOSCOM's financial information service 'CHECK Expert+,' which was previously used by professional investors. It offers prices of domestic over-the-counter and listed bonds, as well as specialized investment information such as swaps (SWAP), floating rate notes (FRN), and a bond price calculator function. Additionally, users can check domestic and international interest rate trends, key economic indicators, and bond market-focused news and reports.
KOSCOM's BOND CHECK was launched in response to the recent surge in bond investment among domestic individual investors. As interest rates entered a declining phase, investment demand shifted toward bonds, which offer stable interest income and potential capital gains. According to KOSCOM, the over-the-counter bond trading volume by individual investors, which was only 5 trillion won in 2016, surpassed the 10 trillion won mark in 2021 and exceeded 53 trillion won last year.
Although the number of bond market participants has increased, the bond investment information available to individuals has been limited. Without a comprehensive bond information platform at the level used by professional investors, individuals had to switch between multiple securities firms' mobile trading systems (MTS) or rely on investment communities, causing inconvenience.
Yoon Chang-hyun, CEO of KOSCOM, stated, "By using BOND CHECK, individual investors can easily access bond investment information that was previously considered the domain of experts." He added, "We will continue to strengthen reliable mobile services for individual investors through the existing ETF CHECK and the new BOND CHECK." KOSCOM's 'ETF CHECK' service is recognized as an essential app for ETF (Exchange-Traded Fund) investors, having established itself within four years of its launch thanks to its user-friendly interface.
BOND CHECK is available for free download from the App Store and Google Play starting from the 7th. It supports both iOS (iPhone, iPad) and Android (smartphones, tablets) devices.
