Choi Sang-mok, Acting President and Deputy Prime Minister as well as Minister of Strategy and Finance, stated on the 7th, "We must maintain a posture that can immediately respond to any provocations from North Korea while establishing an unwavering military command system."

On the morning of the same day, Acting President Choi visited the Command and Control Room of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, urging the establishment of a firm and unchanging military readiness posture. Attending the meeting were Kim Seon-ho, Acting Minister of National Defense, Kim Myung-soo, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Chiefs of Staff of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, the Deputy Commander of the Combined Forces Command, and the Commandant of the Marine Corps present on site, while key officers at the corps commander level and above from each branch participated via video conference.
At the meeting, Acting President Choi shared an understanding of the current grave security situation and especially urged, "Please actively communicate with the troops on the ground centered around the commanders to ensure that the military's morale does not decline."
He also stated, "Even amid the chaotic domestic situation, I ask the military not to be intimidated, to conduct training normally, operate units stably, and devote themselves to their fundamental missions," adding, "During this serious time, I urge everyone to do their best in their respective positions so that the public does not feel anxious about national security."
