Global healthcare company Moa Life Plus announced on the 7th that it has signed a letter of intent with RAHN, headquartered in Switzerland, for the global supply and joint collaboration of poly-gamma-glutamic acid cosmetic ingredients (Gamma-MAX, Gamma-Oligo).
Founded in 1940 with over 80 years of history, RAHN operates a cosmetics business specializing in formulation design technology using premium quality functional cosmetic materials and an energy curing business utilizing functional material curing technology. It has subsidiaries in Germany, the UK, France, the Netherlands, the USA, China, and other countries, generating annual sales of 225 billion KRW across 55 countries worldwide.
A representative of Moa Life Plus stated, “Since 2017, we have maintained a cooperative relationship with RAHN to enter the European market and have been supplying our functional materials. Through an eight-year verification period, the technology and excellence of the poly-gamma-glutamic acid material have been proven, and it is currently being launched as a product of a global European skincare brand.”
They added, “If Moa Life Plus’s poly-gamma-glutamic acid utilizes RAHN’s excellent global sales network and formulation technology, it is expected to emerge as a next-generation natural cosmetic material that will be highly regarded in the global market.”
To expand the global market entry of its proprietary high-functional cosmetic material poly-gamma-glutamic acid, Moa Life Plus agreed to sign a global exclusive supply contract by March during the visit of RAHN CEO Xavier Marguerettaz to Moa Life Plus’s headquarters in Yongin on the 6th, and signed the letter of intent accordingly.
Moa Life Plus has conducted formulation development and efficacy research on poly-gamma-glutamic acid cosmetic materials through over 25 years of R&D. It developed Gamma-MAX, which has a high moisturizing function capable of absorbing more than 5,000 times its own weight in moisture, and Gamma-Oligo, a new formulation capable of skin penetration, confirming their functions in improving skin wrinkles and strengthening the skin barrier.
RAHN integrates Moa Life Plus’s poly-gamma-glutamic acid material into its skincare formulation development platform, RAHN-Cosmetic Activities, providing customized total solutions to customers. It especially supplies to European global skincare brands such as Company C, Company L, and Company E. Moa Life Plus and RAHN signed this letter of intent with the purpose of full-scale technology exchange and new raw material/formulation development to enter and expand not only the European market but also the global market.
