The Coastal Safety Accident Risk Forecast System, in accordance with the "Coastal Accident Safety Management Regulations," is a system designed to inform the public of risks and prevent accidents by issuing alerts for dangerous locations and zones such as piers and coastal waters during specific periods when safety accidents may occur due to adverse weather or natural disasters. The alerts are divided into Interest, Caution, and Warning levels.
The "Caution" level of the Coastal Accident Risk Forecast System is issued when there is a high concern for safety accidents or the possibility of damage spreading. During the alert period, the Coast Guard plans to strengthen both sea and land patrols, focusing on dangerous areas in coastal lowlands such as coastal waters, ports, and rocky shores. They will also carry out promotional and safety guidance activities in cooperation with local governments, police station chiefs, electronic displays, and public announcements to prevent coastal safety accidents.
A Mokpo Coast Guard official stated, "During the 'Caution' alert period, we especially ask the public to refrain from visiting dangerous areas such as breakwaters, and we urge those involved in fishing to pay close attention to securing their vessels."
