On the 5th, the Office of Education announced the recruitment of applicants wishing to participate in the Gyeonggi Teacher Internship Program in the final successful candidate notice for the elementary school employment exam. A total of 90 participants can be accepted, and applications will be received from the 10th to the 14th.
The selection criteria prioritize those with less than six months of teaching experience, focusing on low-experience candidates. Selected interns will be assigned to schools with many experienced staff such as senior teachers for six months from March to August to enhance their teaching skills, complaint handling abilities, and community communication skills.
In particular, the program will be operated to reduce workload during the participation period while strengthening teaching capabilities. Participating teachers will receive salaries according to civil servant pay regulations and will be hired as fixed-term teachers outside the quota, allowing their teaching experience to be officially recognized.
Lee Jeong-hyun, Director of the Education Capacity Policy Division at the Office of Education, said, "The Gyeonggi Teacher Internship Program will be a great opportunity for new teachers to first acquire the job competencies they need," adding, "We will strive to activate the operation of the Gyeonggi Teacher Internship Program in the future to help new teachers adapt to schools and increase job satisfaction in the teaching profession."
