Mapo-gu, 2025 Business Survey
From February 7, targeting about 63,000 places, used as basic data for policy making and academic research
From 2025, ‘unmanned store’ survey included, utilized for safety measures
Mapo-gu (District Mayor Park Gang-su) will conduct the ‘2025 Business Survey (based on 2024)’ from February 7 to March 4.
The purpose of this survey is to understand the size and distribution of businesses by region nationwide, and to use the data for government policy making and evaluation, corporate management planning, and academic research.
The survey is led by Statistics Korea and conducted by Mapo-gu.
The survey targets all businesses engaged in industrial activities within Mapo-gu, totaling about 63,000 places.
The survey method involves business surveyors visiting sites and conducting face-to-face interviews. When businesses are busy with operations, telephone or internet surveys and distribution surveys?where questionnaires are left for businesses to fill out and later collected?are also conducted concurrently.
The survey items include ① business name ② business representative ③ location ④ establishment date ⑤ business registration number ⑥ organizational form ⑦ type of business ⑧ number of employees ⑨ annual sales amount, totaling nine items. The collected data is used solely for statistical purposes.
The 2025 survey newly includes a survey targeting unmanned stores. The survey data will be provided to police and fire authorities to establish safety measures for unmanned stores.
To ensure accurate survey execution, Mapo-gu selected and trained 102 survey and management personnel from residents in January.
The survey results will be posted on the National Statistical Portal (KOSIS) in December.
Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, said, “The ‘business survey,’ which collects basic data for national and local administration, is very important, so we ask for active cooperation to ensure smooth surveying,” adding, “We will actively utilize the published data in district administration to revitalize Mapo’s economy.”
