Seongnam Mayor Shin Sang-jin will visit Shenyang, China, from the 10th to the 11th to strengthen cooperation with its international sister city. This visit is made upon the official invitation of Shenyang.

According to Seongnam City on the 7th, Mayor Shin Sang-jin and a delegation of eight representatives from Seongnam will meet with the Mayor of Shenyang on the 10th to discuss cooperation plans between the two cities.

Through this, they plan to further solidify their position as global industrial cities. They will then tour the Hunnan Science and Technology New City Exhibition Hall, a key industrial hub in Shenyang.

Hunnan Science and Technology New City is a region concentrated with advanced manufacturing and innovative technologies. This visit is expected to expand industrial cooperation and build networks between companies in Seongnam and Shenyang.

In particular, during this visit, a strategic cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) is scheduled to be signed between the Seongnam Industry Promotion Agency and the Shenyang High-tech Industrial Development Zone Administrative Committee.

This is expected to strengthen industrial cooperation between the two cities and promote corporate exchanges and investment attraction.

Additionally, Mayor Shin Sang-jin will visit the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Shenyang to discuss ways to activate economic, cultural, and industrial exchanges between the two countries with the Consul General.

He will also visit SIASUN, a global robotics company headquartered in Shenyang, to explore potential cooperation related to advanced robotics technology.

Mayor Shin said, “Seongnam and Shenyang have infinite possibilities to unite for mutual development across various industrial sectors,” adding, “Through this visit, I hope to deepen the relationship between the two cities and concretize practical cooperation plans.”

Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning Province, one of the three northeastern provinces of China, has maintained active exchanges in various fields such as economy, culture, and education since establishing a sister city partnership with Seongnam in 1998.

Meanwhile, prior to the official visit to Shenyang, Mayor Shin Sang-jin will personally meet and encourage Seongnam’s short track national team athletes competing in the Harbin Winter Asian Games on the 8th and 9th.
