Unstoppable Run... Jockey Seo Seung-woon at LetsRun Park Achieves 800 Career Wins

On January 26th, jockey Seo Seung-woon (35) of LetsRun Park Busan-Gyeongnam achieved a remarkable milestone by securing his 800th career win in his 15th year since debut, winning the 5th race at Busan-Gyeongnam.

Riding the racehorse 'Smart Boss' that day, jockey Seo Seung-woon fiercely competed from the mid-pack but surged ahead on the final stretch to take the lead. He participated in 12 of the 15 races held at Busan-Gyeongnam last week, achieving an impressive 5 wins over two days.

Since his debut in 2011, jockey Seo Seung-woon has attracted attention with his exceptional stamina and outstanding riding skills from the very beginning. He set the domestic record for the fastest 100 wins in 2013 and was selected as the Best Jockey. He then broke the fastest 200 wins record in 2014, reached 300 wins in the shortest time in 2015, and amassed 104 wins in 2016, steadily increasing his victories with formidable momentum.

From 2022, partnering with the racehorse ‘Winners Man,’ he rose to become a top-tier jockey known by name alone. Together with Winners Man, he won the Korea Cup (G1) and the Grand Prix (G1), regarded as the pinnacle of Korean horse racing, and went on to claim the President’s Cup (G1) in 2023. Seo Seung-woon and Winners Man have won 10 graded stakes races together, and Seo has been named Best Jockey for three consecutive years since 2022.

Jockey Seo Seung-woon said, “I am fortunate to have met many excellent horses,” adding, “I will continue to respond to fans’ support with enjoyable races, maintaining activity without breaks due to injury or suspension.”
