SK Innovation E&S announced on the 6th that Narae Energy Service Hanam Office obtained the P grade in the ‘Process Safety Management (PSM)’ implementation evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. The P grade is awarded to the top approximately 5% among about 2,000 nationwide workplaces under government management and is maintained for the next four years.

Narae Energy Service Hanam Office is a 400 MW-class combined heat and power plant that simultaneously produces heat and electricity using natural gas (NG). It stably supplies district heating to the Gangdong area (Gangil district, Godeok reconstruction, etc.) and Hanam area (Misa district, Gam-il district, etc.), and is located in a residential area, contributing to the stability of the metropolitan power system and national power supply.

The PSM implementation evaluation is a system that supervises workplaces possessing facilities that manufacture, handle, or store hazardous and dangerous substances to prevent major industrial accidents. The evaluation items are divided into process safety data on the types and quantities of substances used, process risk assessment data including accident prevention and damage countermeasures, safety operation plans such as safety work permits, and emergency response plans including communication systems with each department and institution in case of accidents.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor assigns grades as P (Excellent), S (Good), M+ (Average), and M- (Poor) after workplace implementation evaluation. Narae Energy Service Hanam Office was recognized for multifaceted efforts such as establishing a safety management system (SHEM) to strengthen SHE (Safety·Health·Environment) management, establishing a safety culture, and enhancing member capabilities for the 12 elements of process safety management, upgrading one level from the previous evaluation (S grade).

Kim Jin-oh, head of Narae Energy Service Hanam Office, said, “Narae Energy Service Hanam Office is the first subsidiary of SK Innovation E&S to obtain the P grade in the process safety management evaluation,” and added, “We will continue to make efforts so that the P grade can be maintained continuously and create a workplace where members can work safely.”
