Daejeon City to Invest 213.2 Billion Won in Youth Policy Projects This Year

Investing 140 Billion Won in Housing, Employment, and Other Key Sectors

Daejeon City announced that it will invest 213.2 billion won this year in youth policy projects to alleviate the difficulties faced by young people and improve their quality of life.

On the 5th, the city held the first Youth Policy Coordination Committee meeting of the year and deliberated and finalized the implementation plan for youth policies, covering 70 projects across five major areas: employment, housing, education, welfare & culture, and participation & rights.

In the employment sector, the city will invest 11.3 billion won in 22 projects, including the Daejeon-type Co-op Youth New Leader Training and the Daejeon Settlement-type Youth Employment Project, to create a robust employment ecosystem and generate quality jobs.

In the housing sector, 129.1 billion won will be allocated to nine projects, such as youth housing supply and youth monthly rent support, to reduce the housing burden for young people.

For education, 23.1 billion won will be invested in 10 projects, including support for semiconductor engineering graduate schools and quantum graduate schools. In the welfare & culture sector, 45.5 billion won will be spent on 19 projects, such as the Future Double Youth Savings Account and marriage incentives for young couples. The participation & rights sector will receive 4.2 billion won for 10 projects, including youth activity spaces and youth networking support.

New projects include support for youth at risk of solitary death, pilot smart farming projects for young farmers, operation of youth supporters, Daejeon Youth Communication and Empathy events, and youth networking support projects.
