Showcasing Dressers, Stools, Lighting, and More

Lotte Department Store Gwangju Branch (Store Manager Kim Daewon) announced on the 6th that it will operate a ‘IKEA Pop-up Store’ by the global home furnishing brand IKEA on the 9th floor starting from the 8th.

The ‘IKEA Pop-up Store’ has been prepared to offer customers in Gwangju and nearby areas, who have found it difficult to visit offline stores, a closer experience with the brand.

At the pop-up store, visitors can experience and purchase not only small furniture and home furnishing accessories such as dressers, stools, and lighting, but also food products like meatballs.

The plan is to present home furnishing inspiration and solutions for a better life at home to many people by providing a sensory space centered on best-selling products.

Key products include the HELMER mobile drawer unit, which features wheels for easy movement and flexible space utilization; the DYVLINGE swivel armchair, a reinterpretation of IKEA’s iconic design; and the RASKOG cart, which is practical for use in small spaces thanks to its stable wheels and compact size.

Other items include the DUKTIG play kitchen set, which can be adjusted to three different heights to match a child's growth and is suitable for role-playing, and the KLUBBSPORRE ergonomic pillow, which gently supports the head, neck, and shoulders to relieve tension and provide comfortable sleep.

There will also be an opportunity to shop for food products from the ‘Swedish Food Market,’ which is available at IKEA’s offline stores. Items for sale include HUVUDROLL meatballs, an iconic taste of IKEA since 1985; SJORAPPORT salmon fillet, which contains no additives and allows you to enjoy the unique umami and chewy texture of raw salmon; and KAFFEREP oat biscuits, perfect to pair with coffee.

Various events will be held to celebrate the opening of the ‘IKEA Pop-up Store at Lotte Department Store Gwangju.’ Notably, until the 11th, an extra-large version of the FRAKTA shopping bag?one of IKEA’s most representative and widely used shopping bags worldwide?will be showcased.

Additionally, until the 9th, there will be a photo session where visitors can take pictures with IKEA’s popular soft toy friends; until the 10th, customers who spend over 100,000 won at the pop-up store can participate in a lucky ball event; until the 14th, the first visitors will receive balloons; and until the 16th, there will be an Instagram hashtag verification event.

Kim Daewon, Store Manager of Lotte Department Store Gwangju, said, “We prepared the pop-up store to provide local residents with new experiences and benefits,” and added, “We expect this to be a great opportunity to experience IKEA home furnishing full of inspiration for a better life at home, up close.”

Meanwhile, IKEA Korea officially entered the domestic market in 2014, starting with IKEA Gwangmyeong, and currently operates four offline stores?Gwangmyeong, Goyang, Giheung, and Dongbusan?as well as an e-commerce platform.
