Up to 8.3 Million KRW for Electric Passenger Cars
Up to 22.88 Million KRW for Electric Cargo Vehicles
Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 6th that it will promote the "2025 Electric Vehicle Private Supply Project" to reduce automobile emissions and create a pleasant air environment.
Applications for support will be accepted starting from the 7th, and a total of 4,701 vehicles will be supplied in the first half of the year. By vehicle type, 4,000 electric passenger cars and 700 electric cargo vehicles will be supplied. Up to 8.3 million KRW will be supported for electric passenger cars, and up to 22.88 million KRW for electric cargo vehicles.
Eligible applicants are individuals, individual business owners, corporations, and organizations who have continuously registered their address in Goyang City for more than 30 days as of the application date.
Supported vehicles must have completed various certifications under related laws such as the Automobile Management Act and the Air Quality Preservation Act, and can be verified on the Ministry of Environment's Zero-Emission Vehicle Integrated Website.
The application process involves visiting an electric vehicle dealership (agency), signing a vehicle purchase contract, filling out the application form, and then the dealership (agency) submits the application documents to Goyang City through the Ministry of Environment's Zero-Emission Vehicle Support System.
Subsequent procedures will be handled by the dealership (agency). However, applicants should note that if the vehicle is deregistered or sold during the mandatory operation period, the subsidy may be reclaimed according to the subsidy recovery rate based on the operation period.
This year's project has secured a larger supply volume by vehicle type compared to previous years, and especially, additional national subsidies will be provided when young people purchase an electric passenger car as their first vehicle in life.
Lee Hak-cheon, Director of the Climate and Energy Division, said, "We will make greater efforts to expand the supply of eco-friendly vehicles such as electric vehicles and hydrogen electric vehicles to respond to climate change and achieve carbon neutrality," and added, "We hope for much interest and applications for the electric vehicle supply project to create a pleasant air environment in Goyang City."
