Figures Who Prospered Under the Yoon Administration Promoted
Surprise Appointments Must Be Reconsidered from the Beginning
The Democratic Party of Korea, the Party for Justice and Innovation, and the Basic Income Party stated on the 5th that they will "thoroughly uncover the background of the blatant personnel appointments favoring only Yoon Seok-yeol and the surprise appointments aimed at silencing the insurrection," and demanded that "they must be immediately withdrawn."

Members of the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee, including Shin Jeong-hoon, Yoon Gun-young, Kim Seong-hoe, Mo Kyung-jong, Park Jeong-hyun, Yang Bu-nam, Yong Hye-in, Wi Seong-gon, Lee Kwang-hee, Lee Sang-sik, Lee Hae-sik, Jeong Chun-saeng, Chae Hyun-il, and Han Byung-do, said in a statement that "this police personnel appointment must be reconsidered from the beginning."
They said, "The surprise appointment of the highest-ranking police officials was carried out despite the fact that suspicions of the police's involvement in blocking the National Assembly and cutting off power and water to media outlets during the state of emergency have not been properly investigated," and criticized, "According to the current Police Officers Act, appointments of police officers at the rank of senior superintendent or higher are made by the Minister of the Interior and Safety upon recommendation by the Commissioner General of the National Police Agency, then approved by the Prime Minister and appointed by the President. The three acting officials committed a personnel atrocity."
They added, "Park Hyun-soo, Senior Superintendent who served from the Yoon Seok-yeol government transition team to the National Situation Room and the Director of the Police Bureau at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety; Cho Jeong-rae, Superintendent from the 101 Security Unit of the Yoon Seok-yeol government; and Nam Je-hyun, Superintendent currently working at the Presidential Office's National Situation Room, are all figures who have prospered under the Yoon Seok-yeol administration," and said, "This proves that the police have still not escaped the shadow of Yoon Seok-yeol, the leader of the insurrection."
