Support for Goods and Content Development by City and Busan Design Promotion Agency
Utilization as Brand Shop Merchandise and Souvenirs for Major Events
Busan City (Mayor Park Hyung-jun) and the Busan Design Promotion Agency (Director Kang Pil-hyun) are recruiting partners to participate in urban brand projects such as goods content development.
On the 5th, the two organizations announced that they are looking for companies to become the ‘2025 Busan Urban Brand Partners’ who will revitalize the local economy and promote the charm of Busan to the world through the development of goods and specialized content utilizing the Busan urban brand.
Busan Urban Brand Partners refer to companies and organizations that share the value of Busan’s urban brand and seek mutual development through collaboration. The project is promoted so that companies with excellent products but low brand awareness can enhance their competitiveness by collaborating with the urban brand and inform citizens of Busan’s value.
The recruitment target is companies or organizations with headquarters or branches in Busan that have the capability and resources to contribute to the promotion and activation of the Busan urban brand. Companies selected as partners can cooperate and create synergy not only through goods production for product sales but also through the development of specialized content and sponsorships that leverage their areas of expertise.
The goods and content developed through this project will be sold at the Busan brand shop ‘Big Shop (Busan is good Shop),’ which opened on Gwangbok-ro in Jung-gu last November, as well as at public institution stores and distribution platforms. They will also be used as souvenirs at major events representing Busan.
Last year, various companies contributed to spreading the Busan urban brand by acting as urban brand partners. Sejung Group donated clothing applying the urban brand, and Onggolchan Saram Co., Ltd. produced digital twin content based on the urban brand. BNK Busan Bank also strengthened the spread of the urban brand by launching a financial product linked to the urban brand called ‘Busanira Johta Big (Big) Savings.’
Companies and organizations wishing to form a partnership with Busan City and the Busan Design Promotion Agency can download the urban brand partners participation application form from the notice section on the Busan Design Promotion Agency website and submit the completed form via email by February 28.
The selection of urban brand partners will be conducted by a committee of experts who will comprehensively consider factors such as ▲understanding of the project ▲company capability ▲brand expansion ▲design ▲marketability to select about 20 companies and organizations in March. The products applied for must be products that incorporate the Busan urban brand.
Kang Pil-hyun, Director of the Busan Design Promotion Agency, said, “We hope to discover products that help people understand the value of the Busan urban brand through goods and feel affection for Busan,” adding, “We will work to enhance the city’s charm and promote Busan to the world by sharing brand value and vision and cooperating with the Busan Urban Brand Partners.”
Busan City and the Busan Design Promotion Agency opened the Busan brand shop ‘Big Shop (Busan is good Shop)’ on Gwangbok-ro in Jung-gu last November. On the first floor, pop-up stores in collaboration with local companies are held, and on the second floor, Busan urban brand goods are exhibited and sold.
