Seosan City Council Appoints Two Legislative and Legal Advisors

The Seosan City Council in Chungnam announced on the 4th that it held an appointment ceremony for legislative and legal advisors at the council chairman's office.

Professor Park Kwangho (President of the Korea Local Autonomy Institute), who was appointed as the legislative advisor, is a former four-term member and former chairman of the Suncheon City Council, and has served as a policy advisory member of the Presidential Committee on Autonomy and Decentralization.

Attorney Ahn Youngjin, who was appointed as the legal advisor, has contributed to solving public policy issues of other local governments while working for many years as a consulting lawyer.

The appointed advisors will serve as consultants on legislative matters such as the enactment and revision of autonomous regulations, interpretation of laws and legislative policies, operation and review/handling of council agendas, and other matters related to the operation of Seosan City Council, as well as legal matters related to the council. The appointment period is for two years, from the 1st to January 31, 2027.

Chairman Cho Dongsik said, "As the authority and role of local councils are expanding, the role of legislative and legal advisors is becoming increasingly important," and added, "I hope you will assist our council in solidifying its role as a legislative body based on your legal expertise and diverse experience."
