The Constitutional Court has rescheduled the interrogation date for Police Commissioner General Jo Ji-ho, who had previously failed to appear as a witness in the impeachment trial of President Yoon Seok-yeol.
On the 5th, Cheon Jae-hyun, the Constitutional Court spokesperson, stated at a regular briefing, "The interrogation date for Commissioner Jo, who was absent on the previous date, has been set for 3:30 PM on the 13th." Commissioner Jo, who was indicted while battling cancer, had previously submitted a letter of absence citing health reasons.
Spokesperson Cheon also said that if Commissioner Jo again expresses his intention to be absent for the same reason, "the court will review the letter of absence to determine whether the reason is valid."
The Constitutional Court also dismissed the request from President Yoon's side to inspect the National Election Commission's server, which was submitted again to verify the number of voters. Spokesperson Cheon said, "It is understood that the court judged the request to lack necessity and relevance."
The Constitutional Court also reported that it received a response the previous day regarding the request for fact-finding and certified copies of records from the Central Election Commission.
Meanwhile, the Constitutional Court announced that President Yoon's side appointed lawyer Oh Uk-hwan the previous day. With this, the total number of President Yoon's legal representatives has reached 17.
