AI security specialist Nurilab announced on the 5th that it will introduce AI-based anti-phishing technology and analysis solutions at an online seminar (webinar) hosted by the Council of Anti-Phishing Japan.
The 11th Phishing Countermeasure Research Session, held on the 6th and organized by the Council of Anti-Phishing Japan, will feature five full member companies of the council, including Nurilab, presenting the latest global phishing trends and phishing prevention technologies and services.
At this seminar, Changhoon Lee, Head of the Strategic Business Division at Nurilab, will give a lecture titled "Algorithms for Detecting New and Variant Phishing Sites and AI-Based Phishing Blocking Solutions."
Phishing pages are typically deleted within an average of 24 hours after creation, and phishing attack methods are constantly evolving, making it difficult to detect phishing using traditional database-based methods. Nurilab possesses its own solution, AskURL, which detects phishing URLs using AI technology and over 1,000 algorithms, enabling analysis and blocking of new and variant phishing sites.
In June last year, Nurilab became the first company without a location in Japan to become a full member of the Council of Anti-Phishing Japan. Established in 2005 as a non-profit organization, the council collects and provides phishing information and promotes phishing prevention measures. Currently, it has 105 full members, 17 phishing prevention organizations, and 7 observer organizations, totaling 138 organizations and individuals, and conducts various activities such as collecting and blocking phishing site URLs and hosting phishing prevention education and seminars.
Wonhyuk Choi, CEO of Nurilab, stated, "Phishing crimes that induce access to malicious URLs are increasing worldwide, causing numerous significant financial damages. To prevent phishing crimes, it is important to raise awareness and provide education by forming global phishing response councils to proactively prevent damage."
He added, "Nurilab is active as a full member of the Council of Anti-Phishing Japan and joined the global cybersecurity cooperation group Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG) in July last year, actively responding to phishing and cybercrime together with APWG members. We have succeeded in developing solutions that precisely analyze phishing sites and fundamentally block phishing crimes, and we will continue to devote ourselves to research and development to become a leading global cybersecurity company."
