Yang Moon-seok, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, stated his intention to pursue to the end after some supporters of the People Power Party allegedly recruited a kidnapping squad to illegally abduct Representative Lee Jae-myung. He said, "The tip is that a 'plot to kidnap Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party leader,' took place in the Naver Band 'People Power Party Central Association,' which is composed of People Power Party members and supporters," adding, "It is even more shocking that this is not from Ilbe (the far-right online community 'Ilgan Best Storage') but from a ruling party member and supporter group called 'People Power Party Central Association'." Those who wish to participate, please apply," and states the conditions as "Martial arts black belt holders, those who pride themselves on strong patriotism through anti-communism and counter-espionage, agile individuals, welcome 20s and 30s generations. Those who are not afraid of death, anyone must have a strong anti-communist spirit. Please contact us. We are waiting."
Recalling the attack on Representative Lee that occurred last January during his visit to the site of the new airport in Gadukdo, Busan, Yang emphasized, "Democratic Party members and supporters have been continuously demanding enhanced security for Representative Lee Jae-myung," and added, "At a time like this, it is so shocking that a heinous criminal plot has been made within the People Power Party that my hands tremble as I write this." He also raised suspicions that the People Power Party might be condoning or turning a blind eye to acts targeting the leader of South Korea's main opposition party.
Yang stated, "Within the People Power Party, another heinous criminal plot to illegally kidnap the Democratic Party leader is underway," and emphasized, "Is the People Power Party leadership condoning and encouraging this? We will relentlessly track down the masterminds and bring them to justice." He further asserted, "If the People Power Party does not take immediate action, the Democratic Party's False Information Monitoring Team will hold the People Power Party leadership accountable," and declared, "We will uncompromisingly fight to the end against any forces threatening democracy and human rights." Meanwhile, as of 2 p.m. on the 4th, the Naver Band 'People Power Party Central Association,' created in February 2019, has 27,132 active members.
