Scheduled to Attend the 59th Super Bowl in Person
Swift, Who Publicly Supported Harris in the Last Election
Trump Expresses Discomfort Over Swift's Endorsement
Donald Trump, the President of the United States, will become the first sitting president to attend the Super Bowl, the championship game of the National Football League (NFL), in person. On the 4th (local time), foreign media including CNN and the Associated Press (AP) reported, citing an announcement from the Secret Service (SS), the presidential security organization, that President Trump is scheduled to attend the 59th Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on the 9th.

A Secret Service spokesperson explained that since this is the first time a sitting U.S. president will watch the Super Bowl in person, security measures will be significantly strengthened. Earlier, in New Orleans, where the Super Bowl is held, a terrorist attack occurred on New Year's Day last month when an Islamic State (IS) extremist drove a pickup truck into a crowd, killing 14 and injuring over 30, so the security posture is expected to be extremely tight. Not only the Secret Service but also the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) plans to deploy 450 agents to New Orleans this week.

Among this, some media outlets reported that there is a possibility President Trump might 'encounter' Taylor Swift, currently the most popular pop star in the U.S., at the event. Swift is expected to attend the stadium this year as well to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce (Kansas City), just like last year's Super Bowl. Swift publicly endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump's competitor in the last presidential election, in September. At that time, Trump expressed displeasure over Swift's public endorsement, saying, "(Swift) will probably pay a price in the market."
Super Bowl to remove 'End Racism' slogan for the first time in 4 years... Because of Trump's visit?
Meanwhile, the NFL has decided not to use the slogan 'End Racism,' which has been used at the Super Bowl stadium, at this year's Super Bowl. This is the first time since 2021 that the phrase has been excluded from the Super Bowl venue. The NFL stated that this decision was made considering recent tragic events in American society, but some analysts suggest it reflects the political situation, including the possibility of Trump's re-election. At the New Orleans stadium where this year's Super Bowl will be held, neutral phrases such as 'Choose Love' and 'It Takes All of Us' will be inscribed in the end zone.

According to local media such as ESPN, this decision was recently communicated internally to senior league officials. Some speculate that since President Trump is scheduled to attend the Super Bowl in person, the NFL might have removed the slogan out of caution. Regarding this, NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy said, "The decision was made considering the recent tragic events in American society," mentioning the terrorist attack in the French Quarter of New Orleans in January, the large wildfire in the Los Angeles area, and the aircraft collision near Washington DC. He emphasized, "In these circumstances, the phrase 'Choose Love' is a message everyone can agree with," adding, "The NFL has also judged this appropriate for the current situation in other recent events."
