Sancheong Donguibogam Village Selected as One of Korea's Top 100 Tourist Destinations

Designation of Must-Visit Tourist Attractions
for Both Koreans and Foreigners

Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 5th that Donguibogam Village has been selected as one of the '2025-2026 Korea Top 100 Tourist Attractions.'


This selection was made by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Tourism Organization, which reviewed criteria such as representativeness, attractiveness, and growth potential to designate must-visit tourist destinations for both Koreans and foreigners.

Donguibogam Village, which was named in the natural resources category of the Korea Top 100 Tourist Attractions, is the nation’s first herbal medicine-themed health experience tourist site, attracting approximately 846,000 visitors last year.


It is a genuine herbal medicine leisure tourism hub equipped with various facilities such as the Korean Medicine Museum, Expo Theme Pavilion, Herbal Medicine Theme Park, herbal medicine experience center, and natural recreation forests.


In particular, the landmark of Donguibogam Village, Mureunggyo Bridge, is very popular as visitors can walk over the Mureung Valley flowing southeast and enjoy the scenic views of Wangsangga and Pilbongsan Mountains.


Additionally, it has been recognized internationally as a wellness tourism destination and Korea’s number one healing travel spot, having been selected for ▲ the 2017 Top 25 Wellness Tourism Sites ▲ the 2018 Open Tourism Site ▲ the 2018 Wellness Tourism Cluster ▲ the 2023 Local 100 Sites ▲ and the 2024 Excellent Wellness Tourism Site.


Lee Seunghwa, the county governor, said, “We will continue to build extensive tourism infrastructure and actively develop new tourism content and programs to promote the qualitative growth of Sancheong tourism. We hope you visit Sancheong during the 2025 Sancheong Visit Year to experience healing.”
