Honam University Hotel Convention Department students join luxury hotel’s core teams

Honam University announced on the 4th that four graduates (including expected graduates) from the Department of Hotel Convention (Head of Department Lee Heeseung) have been finally accepted to 'Banyan Tree Haeundae Busan,' the highest-grade luxury brand of the Banyan Group.

The students who were accepted as 'Grand Opening Members' of 'Banyan Tree Haeundae Busan,' which will open this May in Gijang-gun, Busan, are Oh Hyunsu (class of 2019), Jung Jinhyuk (class of 2019), Kim Seohyun (class of 2021), and Cho Yeonwoo (class of 2021).

The four students who passed the final selection will be assigned to the core hotel departments of Rooms and Food & Beverage. In the Rooms department, they will be responsible for guest service and room operations, while in the Food & Beverage department, they will handle restaurant service and F&B operations. These are key departments that determine the quality of hotel service, and the students are expected to demonstrate their expertise based on the practical skills they have developed in their department.

This successful employment was made possible thanks to the active guidance of Professor Lee Seunghwan, the employment BUM (Brand Up Manager) of the Department of Hotel Convention. Professor Lee Seunghwan provided customized interview coaching, enhanced practical training, and individual consulting to help the students succeed in the final selection at 'Banyan Tree Haeundae Busan.'

Through close cooperation with the hotel industry, the department has worked to enhance students' practical competitiveness by providing hands-on training opportunities that reflect the latest trends. Thanks to this support, the students were able to acquire the service mindset and practical skills required in the hotel industry.
