Asan City Council to Hold Ethics Committee on June 14 for Chairman Hong Seongpyo's Drunken Misconduct

One-Point Extraordinary Session Scheduled for the 5th Canceled

The Asan City Council in Chungnam held an Operations Committee meeting on the afternoon of the 4th and canceled the one-point extraordinary session that was scheduled for the 5th.

The extraordinary session was set to include a motion for the resignation of Chairman Hong Seongpyo, who caused controversy by attending his alma mater's graduation ceremony while intoxicated.

However, the session was canceled after Chairman Hong submitted a withdrawal of his resignation letter to the council secretariat on the 3rd.

Immediately after the Operations Committee, the city council members held a Special Ethics Committee meeting at the same location to review the disciplinary schedule for Chairman Hong.

Yoon Wonjun, Chairman of the Ethics Committee, stated, "We plan to elect the chairperson of the Advisory Committee on the 6th," and added, "The next Ethics Committee meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m. on the 14th."

Meanwhile, Chairman Hong is currently unreachable.
