The Korean Bar Association will hold the '2024 Human Rights Report Conference' on the 5th at the Bar Association Hall seminar room. The Bar Association announced on the 4th that it has published the '2024 Human Rights Report (Issue No. 39),' which contains the human rights status for 2024. Since 1986, the association has published the 'Human Rights Report' annually, providing an objective evaluation and alternatives regarding the domestic human rights situation over the year. The Human Rights Report Conference has been held since 2013 to review and discuss the human rights situation.

This year's Human Rights Report Conference will be divided into two sessions, with lawyer Jeong Young-joo (Vice Chair of the Human Rights Report Publication Subcommittee of the Korean Bar Association) serving as the session moderator. The overall moderator will be Lee Si-jeong, the 2nd Human Rights Director of the Korean Bar Association. The first session, titled 'Appropriateness of Deepfake Regulation and Punishment,' will feature lawyer Park Seong-min (member of the Human Rights Report Publication Subcommittee of the Korean Bar Association), who will introduce cases related to deepfakes, review the current legal system, and examine the human rights aspects concerning constitutional freedom of expression infringement and protection. Professor Jeong Hyun-mi of Ewha Womans University Law School and lawyer Lee Seung-yeol (member of the Human Rights Report Publication Subcommittee of the Korean Bar Association) will participate as discussants.

The second session, titled 'Current Status and Issues of Stalking Crimes,' will have lawyer Shin Eun-young (Human Rights Committee member of the Korean Bar Association) introduce the current status, actual conditions, and related rulings on stalking crimes. The session will review issues in current laws and systems and present future tasks. Discussions will follow with Kim Seong-hee, Researcher at the Police University Institute of Security Policy, and lawyer Lee Min (Human Rights Committee member of the Korean Bar Association).
