At this meeting, eight representatives from Vietnam, including the Vietnamese Embassy, VKIST, and the Vietnamese company Xuan Cau Holdings, discussed the smart factory government official development assistance (ODA) project, promotion of exchanges between the two countries, and mutual cooperation. In particular, they introduced Korea's smart manufacturing innovation policies for Vietnam's successful digital transformation and discussed cooperation plans between Korea and Vietnam.
So far, the Promotion Team has agreed with VKIST to utilize VKIST's site to establish a Vietnam Demo Verification Center, one of the support models for the smart factory ODA project. The two countries agreed to specify the detailed plan for the Vietnam smart factory ODA project this year and to establish a decision-making basis for building the Vietnam Demo Verification Center through this meeting.
Additionally, a local inspection team for the ODA project will be formed to visit Vietnam at the end of February to conduct consultations with related organizations (Vietnam MOST, SATI, Embassy, etc.), local surveys (technology and infrastructure), and project briefings (demand discovery). The Promotion Team expects this meeting to activate the Vietnam smart factory ODA project and subsequent cooperative activities.
An Kwang-hyun, head of the Smart Manufacturing Innovation Promotion Team, stated, "We hope this will be an opportunity to share Korea's experience and know-how in government support policies for digital transformation with Vietnam, establish a cooperative foundation, and continuously promote exchanges."
