Lee States Position on Election Fraud Theories
"I Do Not Have a Career That Warrants Being Told I Don't Know About Public Elections"
Lee Jun-seok, a member of the Reform New Party, strongly criticized Jeon Han-gil, a famous Korean history lecturer who has recently been repeatedly asserting election fraud theories, saying he is "engaging in typical old-fashioned bossiness (kkondae behavior)."
On the 3rd, Lee appeared on YTN Radio's 'News Fighting, this is Kim Young-soo' and made these remarks. On that day, the host asked Lee, "You criticized the election fraud theory as a confrontation between intellect and anti-intellectualism. However, top lecturer Jeon Han-gil holds the position that 'the issue of election fraud is a matter of fact, not value.' What do you think about that?"

In response, Lee said, "This person (Jeon) keeps saying 'Lee Jun-seok doesn't know what he's talking about,' but even if I don't know other areas, I do not have a career that would make me be told I don't know politics or public elections more than Jeon." He added, "(Jeon) is currently engaging in typical kkondae behavior directed at younger people."
Lee also explained about the election fraud suspicions. He said, "Some people listening to this broadcast might say, 'Can't we just verify it?' but everything has been done," adding, "Recounts were conducted, and it was all confirmed that there were no problems with the ballots. Each claim, such as the Japanese flag ballots, cabbage leaf ballots, and shape-memory paper, was all verified and resulted in Supreme Court rulings." He continued, "There were 126 lawsuits like this. Those who incite say things like 'No investigation was done,' or 'Proper investigation was not conducted,' but everything was done, and this conclusion was reached." He further stated, "Because lies keep being piled on top of lies from the start, Jeon is also heading toward a dangerous point," and "Claims based on lies should not continue."
Earlier, on the 25th of last month, Lee declared, "From this moment, I declare war on the election fraud conspiracy theories," and proposed a 'final debate' with former Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn and Jeon. Lee held a press conference at the National Assembly that day, saying, "If we cannot cut out the election fraud conspiracy theories, which are like malignant tumors, there is no hope for the future of the Republic of Korea," and proposed, "Whether it is lecturer Jeon Han-gil or former Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn, let's debate." He added, "If election fraud conspiracy theorists continue to falsely claim conservatism, Korea's conservatives must forever give up on the idea of ruling," and said, "From this moment, I declare war on election fraud conspiracy theories."
Subsequently, on the 28th of last month, Jeon responded in an interview with Channel A, targeting Lee, saying, "Those who try to dismiss and cover it up as a conspiracy theory are the real culprits," and "Lee is the same; he says that because he doesn't know. I was like that too."
