Hwasun County announced on the 3rd that for the month of February, the purchase limit for Hwasun Sarang Gift Certificates has been raised to 700,000 won, combining both paper and mobile certificates. The discount rate is 10%.

A county official added that the previous purchase limit was 500,000 won, but this decision was made in consideration of the difficult local economic situation.

The monthly purchase limit for paper certificates is 300,000 won. Paper certificates can be purchased at 28 financial institutions within Hwasun, while card-type gift certificates can be applied for and recharged through the dedicated local gift certificate app, Chak.

Park Yonghee, Head of the Local Economy Division, said, "We hope that the Hwasun Sarang Gift Certificates will revitalize the local economy, which has been depressed due to high inflation and economic downturn, and help support household finances. We encourage residents to use the more convenient mobile gift certificates rather than the paper certificates, which incur higher distribution costs and are more difficult to manage."

Meanwhile, in January, Hwasun County offered a special 15% discount on Hwasun Sarang Gift Certificates for one month, and the combined sales of paper and mobile certificates reached 9.2 billion won.

This is 4 billion won more than the previous month, and in particular, sales of mobile gift certificates were tallied at 5.1 billion won, more than three times higher than before.
