Despite Shorter Operation, Visitor Numbers Rise... Establishing Itself as Chungnam's Leading Amusement Destination
The "Winter Theme Park," a popular winter attraction in Seosan, Chungnam, enjoyed great popularity as one of the region's top destinations.
The Seosan city government announced that the Winter Theme Park, which opened on December 21 last year, successfully concluded on February 2 thanks to strong support from citizens.
Although this year's Winter Theme Park operated for 44 days?8 days shorter than last year's 52 days?the number of visitors increased by about 10,000, reaching approximately 110,000 people.
The city offered a variety of attractions, including an ice skating rink, ice tube slides, and a snow playground, providing families with joyful winter memories.
In particular, a practice rink for beginners was set up to ensure safe skating, and professional skating instructors provided systematic lessons for newcomers.
During ice resurfacing times, former skating athletes gave demonstration performances, captivating the attention of visitors.
During the Lunar New Year holiday, traditional folk games such as Yutnori, Tuho, and Jegichagi were held. In addition, as with last year, the park extended its hours by two on Saturdays and Sundays, when visitor numbers were highest, to enhance convenience.
Mayor Lee Wanseop stated, "We operated a variety of attractions to create a facility where families can enjoy happy moments together, always putting safety first," adding, "We will do our best to prepare the Summer Theme Park, which will open in July, so that the whole family can enjoy it together."
