Applications Accepted at Gwangjin-gu Office Regional Economy Division Until February 18
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will provide loans from the Small and Medium Business Development Fund at a fixed annual interest rate of 1.5%.
Considering the difficulties faced by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small business owners due to the ongoing economic recession and rising exchange rates, the interest rate has been lowered from the previous 1.8% per annum to 1.5%, focusing on easing the financial burden on businesses.
The program targets SMEs and small business owners who have been registered in Gwangjin-gu for more than six months as of the application date, and requires collateral capability in the form of real estate or credit guarantees according to bank credit regulations.
The loan funds must be used solely for business operating expenses, facility funds, or technology development funds. Corporate businesses can borrow from 30 million KRW up to a maximum of 200 million KRW, while individual businesses can borrow from 30 million KRW up to a maximum of 100 million KRW. The repayment method is a one-year grace period followed by three years of equal installment repayments.
Businesses wishing to apply should prepare related documents such as the loan application form, business plan, and a copy of the business registration certificate, and visit the Gwangjin-gu Office’s Regional Economy Division by February 18. After bank credit screening, the district review committee will select the loan recipients.
Additionally, the district operates the ‘Gwangjin-type Special Loan’ to support businesses lacking sufficient collateral. This special loan offers up to 70 million KRW per business, with the district subsidizing 2% annual interest for two years. Interested applicants can make a consultation appointment and apply by visiting the Gwangjin branch of the Seoul Credit Guarantee Foundation.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “We hope this interest rate reduction will provide practical help in alleviating the financial difficulties of our SMEs and small business owners,” and added, “We will continue to prepare various support policies for local businesses.”
