10,000 Won Shinan Gift Certificate Awarded Each Month
to Participants Who Achieve Their Walking Goals

Shinan County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Park Wooriang), announced on the 3rd that it will expand the operation of the health walking challenge 'Walkon' to promote walking in daily life.

This walking challenge will run for 10 months until November, and any county resident with a smartphone can participate. The challenge operates through the Walkon app, where participants aim to achieve a set number of steps each month: 170,000 steps for those under 59 and 136,000 steps for those aged 60 and above.

Every month, a total of 400 participants (240 under 59, 160 aged 60 and above) who reach their goals will be randomly selected to receive a Shinan gift certificate worth 10,000 won.

This challenge aims to encourage residents to practice walking, form healthy walking habits in daily life, and reduce health risk factors. In addition, it is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy by increasing walking rates, supporting residents' healthy lifestyles, and distributing Shinan gift certificates.

A county official said, "Through the health walking challenge, we can lay the foundation for residents to practice healthy living and spread a walking culture," adding, "We will continue to create a vibrant and healthy community through various health programs."

Meanwhile, Shinan County is actively supporting residents' walking practices by creating a pleasant walking environment through the 'One Island, One Garden' project, which turns each island into a garden above the sea. Beautiful gardens are being established on each island to provide the joy of walking in nature and contribute to the spread of walking culture.
