With severe cold weather persisting even during the day, heavy snowfall of 1 to 3 cm per hour is expected in Gwangju and Jeonnam.


The snow that began on the 3rd in Gwangju and Jeonnam will continue until the day after tomorrow. By the 5th, the expected snowfall is 5 to 20 cm in northwestern Jeonnam, 5 to 15 cm in Gwangju and western Jeonnam, and 3 to 10 cm in eastern Jeonnam. During the same period, the expected precipitation is 5 to 20 mm in northwestern Jeonnam, 5 to 10 mm in Gwangju and western Jeonnam, and around 5 mm in eastern Jeonnam.


On the morning of the 4th, the lowest temperatures are forecasted to be -9 degrees Celsius in Damyang, Gokseong, and Gurye; -8 degrees in Jangseong and Hwasun; -7 degrees in Yeonggwang, Naju, Yeongam, Jangheung, Boseong, and Suncheon; -6 degrees in Gwangju, Hampyeong, Muan, Gangjin, Goheung, Yeosu, and Gwangyang; -5 degrees in Shinan, Mokpo, Jindo, and Haenam; and -4 degrees in Wando.


The highest daytime temperatures are expected to be -2 degrees Celsius in Gwangju, Yeonggwang, Jangseong, Damyang, Hwasun, Gurye, Gokseong, and Boseong; -1 degree in Hampyeong, Muan, Naju, Mokpo, Yeongam, Jangheung, and Gangjin; and 0 degrees in Shinan, Jindo, Haenam, Wando, Goheung, Suncheon, Gwangyang, and Yeosu, showing lower values than the previous day.


Waves at sea will reach 2 to 3.5 meters in the West Sea and 1.5 to 2.5 meters in the South Sea. Fine and ultrafine dust levels will remain 'good.'


An official from the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration stated, "In areas where snow is falling, visibility will decrease rapidly, and many places will have snow accumulation and icy roads. Please be sure to drive slowly, and hikers should pay special attention to safety accidents."
