‘Aigu’ is a compound word of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Daegu, and the character was designed with the motif of the eagle, the city bird of Daegu.

This character, created using AI technology, has a round shape and is depicted holding a pen in one hand, symbolizing the image of a reporter. The ‘i9’ inscription on the character’s body symbolically represents AI and Daegu.

This friendly character design is part of efforts to approach readers more closely.

‘Aigu’ is responsible for writing brief news articles, introducing trends in the cultural and arts sectors, collecting and summarizing information on cultural events, and organizing profiles of notable figures in ‘Daegu Munhwa.’ Additionally, it engages in various activities such as proposing ideas for articles and conducting research.

This strategy aims to gradually secure the stability and reliability of AI technology and provide readers with more accurate and useful information.

Articles written by ‘Aigu’ will be available from the February 2025 issue in both print and e-book formats, and the role of ‘Aigu’ in ‘Daegu Munhwa’ will be gradually expanded in the future.

Unlike other AI applications, ‘Aigu’ is expected to act not just as a simple tool but as a colleague working alongside human reporters, creating synergy through collaboration.

It is distributed free of charge at local libraries, cultural spaces, and other locations at the end of each month and is also available as an e-book.
