The emergence of the generative artificial intelligence (AI) model 'DeepSeek,' created by a Chinese startup, has brought attention to AI software (SW) companies. In particular, there is a growing market perception that companies offering services with their own generative AI models are the biggest beneficiaries. Among them, Deepnoid is showing the fastest progress in the medical AI field.
According to the financial investment industry on the 3rd, Deepnoid is expected to be the first company to introduce solutions utilizing generative AI in the healthcare sector, the largest market within the global AI SW industry. In fact, Deepnoid is preparing for differentiated growth compared to competitors by developing medical imaging interpretation reports using its own generative AI model.
A Deepnoid representative pointed out, "Currently, companies generating revenue with medical AI solutions specialized in image interpretation mostly use image interpretation software called CNN, which only plays an auxiliary role in interpretation. Therefore, even if a large volume of image interpretations is performed, there are limitations to revenue growth."
He continued, "However, in actual medical image interpretation, the report writing part accounts for most of the interpretation fee, and to implement this with AI, it is necessary to have an in-house generative AI model. Since the second half of 2022, when GPT-3 was introduced, Deepnoid has recognized this point and has focused 70% of its research and development workforce on creating solutions with its own generative AI model. Accordingly, we expect to see the results starting this year."
Currently, the medical imaging AI interpretation solution field generates revenue only through interpretation assistance solutions, which have low fees and small market size. However, in the global market, total interpretation services form a market several times larger.
Therefore, Deepnoid plans to utilize generative AI to provide AI-based solutions for most of the medical imaging interpretation field, thereby securing the interpretation service sector, which has relatively 3 to 5 times higher unit prices and a larger market size.
