Ulsan City Launches Full-Scale Initiative to Improve Living Conditions for Vulnerable Housing Groups

A total of 53 households benefited from housing environment improvements last year
50 households to receive support this year

Ulsan City is promoting the ‘2025 Housing Environment Improvement Project for Vulnerable Housing Groups’ to support vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities and the elderly.

In particular, this year, the focus will be on improving the aging housing environment for people with disabilities and the elderly, along with support for upgrading traditional toilets and briquette boilers.

A total of 50 households, 10 households per district and county, will be supported, with a total project budget of 250 million KRW, providing up to 5 million KRW per household.

The main project contents include upgrading traditional toilets to flush toilets, replacing briquette boilers with eco-friendly boilers, creating barrier-free living environments, and supporting improvements in housing safety and energy environment to enhance aging housing conditions.

Applicants will be selected through on-site surveys and evaluations based on age, disability grade, urgency, and income level among people with disabilities and the elderly who apply via announcements on each district and county website.

However, households that have received housing convenience project support from local governments within the past three years or those receiving additional repair costs as recipients of housing benefits for people with disabilities and the elderly are excluded from support.

Ulsan City plans to announce the project in February, accept applications from the relevant districts and counties until April, select beneficiaries, and implement the project starting in May.

An official from Ulsan City stated, “Through this housing environment improvement project, we expect to enhance the housing convenience and quality of life for vulnerable groups such as the elderly and people with disabilities. We will continue to strive to improve the housing environment for those in need through various projects for vulnerable groups.”

Since 2022, Ulsan City has been promoting housing convenience support projects for low-income people with disabilities and the elderly, supporting a total of 157 households up to last year.
