Kwon Young-se, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, and Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader, will visit President Yoon Seok-yeol, who is incarcerated at Seoul Detention Center, on the 3rd. This is the first time the party leadership has visited President Yoon since his imprisonment. It is also reported that lawmaker Na Kyung-won will join the visit on the 3rd.

On the 2nd, Floor Leader Kwon Seong-dong announced the plan to visit President Yoon during a press briefing at the National Assembly, stating, "A meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. tomorrow," and that Emergency Response Committee Chairman Kwon will accompany him.

He explained, "Chairman Kwon also said, 'Since I have a close personal connection with President Yoon from university days and later as a prosecutor, it would be good to go together,' so it happened coincidentally, not as a visit from the party leadership." He added, "We are not going to discuss political issues, investigations, or trials; it is a personal visit."

Regarding some party members' calls for caution about visiting President Yoon, Floor Leader Kwon said, "The relationship between human beings is more important than politics," and added, "When a friend is in a difficult situation, it is only natural as a human being to visit, comfort, and encourage them."
