An Average of 45 Discount Benefits per Month
The number of customers who have received discount benefits through LG Uplus's membership benefit 'U+2Plus' has exceeded 8 million in total. This achievement was reached just nine months after the launch of U+2Plus.
Launched in April last year, U+2Plus is a new concept membership benefit that offers discount coupons for various brands and products on specific days each month. Customers can access the integrated benefit platform 'U+ Membership' application (app) to download discount coupons and use them until the end of the month.
According to LG Uplus's analysis of data from the past nine months, a total of 122 partner companies participated in U+2Plus from April last year to January this year, providing an average of 45 discount benefits per month. Customers downloaded an average of five discount coupons each month. When converted into monetary value, the total discount coupons provided through U+2Plus amount to 86.8 billion KRW.
The benefits with the highest customer participation were ▲CGV (free cola + beverage) ▲Baskin Robbins (12,000 KRW discount on quarter size) ▲Daiso (3,000 KRW coupon) in that order. The partners with the highest cumulative discount amounts were ▲Outback (25% discount) ▲VIPS (45% discount) ▲Pizza Hut (55% discount + 1.25ℓ cola) respectively.
Among participating customers, women in their 20s and 40s accounted for the largest proportion, while men in their 30s and 40s showed high participation rates. Customers in their 20s and 30s preferred benefits from Mega Coffee, CGV, Baskin Robbins, and Daiso, whereas customers in their 50s and 60s showed the highest preference for Paris Baguette discount benefits.
Since April last year, eight businesses including GS25, Pizza Hut, and LG Household & Health Care have participated monthly in the nine rounds of U+2Plus. In particular, GS25 selected popular products each month to offer benefits, and in January this year, it achieved a sell-out within 30 minutes by offering up to 90% discount on Squid Game collaboration products.
LG Uplus plans to continue collaborating with partners in various fields to sustain customer participation. This month, U+2Plus will offer benefits such as ▲Goban Sikdang (one free serving of pork belly with purchase of two or more servings) ▲CGV (free popcorn + cola) ▲Hollys (one free coffee beverage) ▲Pascucci (up to 3,000 KRW discount on slice cakes).
Additionally, from the 17th to the 21st, benefits will be provided to participate in events such as docent tours and jewelry styling at the 'Swarovski Dosan Park Flagship Store.' This event will be held for 50 selected participants through a lottery, and anyone who is a membership VIP or higher, or a long-term customer with over five years of membership, can apply.
