Rolling Stones' Mick Jagger's Lover...
A Life Marked by Drugs, Homelessness, and Turmoil
Marianne Faithfull, a singer and actress known as the fairy of 1960s British pop music, has passed away at the age of 78.
Her agency, Republic Media, announced on the 30th (local time), "Marianne peacefully passed away surrounded by her beloved family."
Marianne was raised in a convent after her parents' divorce, and at the age of 17 in 1964, she made a big hit with her debut song "AS TEARS GO BY." She later worked in various fields including singing, acting, and songwriting. In 1968, she gained popularity starring in the film "The Girl on a Motorcycle."
Although she reached the top as a singer, she was also romantically linked with Mick Jagger, the leader of the British band The Rolling Stones, and actor Alain Delon. She lived with Mick Jagger from the age of 19, but their relationship did not last long due to his womanizing. Afterwards, she caused problems such as drug use and drinking, and experienced two years of homelessness in London.
Marianne made a successful comeback with the 1979 album "Broken English" and won a Grammy Award in 1981. At the age of 61 in 2007, she starred in the film "Irina Palm."
