On the same day, the Western District Court stated in a press release, "Despite unjust and illegal attacks on the nation's judicial functions, we have safely preserved core functions including litigation records," adding, "All members remain steadfast and perform the duties entrusted by the people according to principles and standards. Through prompt and fair trials, we will faithfully guarantee the people's right to a trial, quickly restore the original judicial functions, and contribute to enhancing public trust."

On the same day, the Western District Court also held the inauguration ceremony for the new Chief Judge Kim Tae-up (57). The position of Chief Judge became vacant after Judge Jeong Gye-seon was recommended as a candidate for the Constitutional Court Justice last month. The Supreme Court appointed Judge Kim ahead of the regular personnel reshuffle on the 23rd as a 'one-point' appointment to ensure a swift and smooth resolution of the Western District Court incident and organizational stabilization.
