Big Data Innovation Convergence University Project Group Hosts 'Industry Trend Conference'

Discussion on Industry-Academia Collaboration Reflecting Industry Needs

Seoul National University announced on the 1st that it held the "3rd Big Data Industry Trends Conference" on the 22nd of last month, organized by the Big Data Innovation Convergence College Project Group.

The event was attended by 300 participants including big data experts, corporate practitioners, university students, and general citizens. Hongki Kim, Dean of the Big Data Innovation Convergence College at Seoul National University, introduced the vision and achievements of the Big Data Innovation Convergence College project and emphasized the importance of a data-centered education model.

Byungjun Kim, Director at Amazon Web Services (AWS), Seonae Seo, Research Fellow at LG Uplus, and Jisuk Seo, Director at Palantir Technologies, discussed cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in enterprises, AX platforms, and ontology cases.

Sangwoo Hong, Head of Digital Tech at Cheil Worldwide, Jinho Park, Director at Google, and Hyunkyung Jung, CEO of Musicow, presented directions on big data applications and careers, including the use of big data and AI in marketing, customized employment strategies for global companies, and startup cases utilizing big data.

The Big Data Innovation Convergence College Project Group is a consortium of seven universities participating in the advanced field innovation convergence college project, including Seoul National University, Gyeonggi Institute of Science and Technology, Gyeongsang National University, University of Seoul, Sookmyung Women's University, Jeonbuk National University, and Handong Global University.
