Noun, Leaping as an Eyewear Brand for an 'Unordinary Daily Life'

KNOUUN is a brand that manufactures eyeglass frames and sunglasses, carrying out the entire process from planning and design to production domestically. It has attracted attention from consumers and the industry with its manufacturing method that combines tradition and innovation.


CEO Ha Kyung-rok of H2C Design Co., Ltd. explained KNOUUN's philosophy and vision, saying, "We wanted to convey the message that the products are designed and produced by people who know glasses well and make them well," adding, "We aim for a sophisticated yet practical design." KNOUUN provides differentiated value to consumers in the domestic B2C market and is expanding its presence in overseas markets such as Japan.


In 2019, KNOUUN participated in the Korea Eyewear Industry Advancement Promotion Project to develop its own brand, moving away from the existing OEM·ODM-centered business structure. CEO Ha stated, "Through our own brand, we wanted to actively enter not only the domestic market but also overseas markets," and added, "In particular, in-depth information and consulting on target markets were necessary."

Since then, KNOUUN has grown by receiving brand consulting, product development, and marketing support. CEO Ha said, "Thanks to the support projects, we were able to continue marketing activities even during the pandemic period and reduce the burden of new product development," adding, "This played a significant role in taking a successful first step in overseas markets."


Especially, the achievements in the Japanese market became a turning point for brand growth. The resources secured during the overseas expansion process positively impacted not only sales but also job creation, forming a foundation for global market expansion.


KNOUUN is strengthening brand awareness through domestic and international market promotion and participation in exhibitions. CEO Ha said, "Our strength lies in carrying out all processes from planning to production domestically," adding, "This differentiation makes KNOUUN stand out even more." This serves as an opportunity to showcase the competitiveness of the Korean eyewear manufacturing industry.


Going forward, KNOUUN plans to quickly respond to changing markets and customer demands and leap forward as a global brand providing high-quality products at reasonable prices. CEO Ha stated, "Our goal is to lead the market as a small but strong organization and grow into a trusted brand."
