Gwangsan-gu in Gwangju announced on the 31st that it will operate a compensation system for collecting illegal outdoor advertisements.
This system recruits local residents as activists to collect illegal outdoor advertisements (such as banners, flyers, and posters) that undermine the city's appearance, and provides compensation based on the quantity of advertisements collected.
The district selected 39 collection activists through a recruitment period from the 13th to the 16th, and provided training on illegal advertisement management methods, safety education, compensation standards, and application procedures.
Collection activists will be compensated up to 300,000 KRW per month per person, depending on the amount of illegal advertisements such as illegal banners and youth-harmful advertisements collected in the area, until December of this year.
