Gwangju Dong-gu (District Chief Lim Taek) announced on the 30th that it will host the MIRO1 Special Exhibition and a citizen workshop titled "Green World, Blue Heart."

The exhibition, which will be held from the 5th to the 21st of next month on the first floor of the MIRO Center, will showcase 12 works by artist Yoon Yeonwoo, who is active in Dong-gu. Yoon Yeonwoo has been creating works themed around "nature" and "human emotions," and the special exhibition will feature pieces that sensually and warmly express the vitality of nature and the emotions the artist experienced within it.

During the exhibition period, a citizen participation workshop will also take place. The workshop, themed around "nature," will involve making bamboo calendar frames, offering participants the joy of creating with natural materials.

Yoon Yeonwoo said, "I painted summer vacation scenes while dreaming of relaxation in nature," adding, "Just as the children's song says that our hearts will be colored blue if we grow up looking at green leaves and blue skies, I worked with the hope that a touch of blue would seep in, even if only for a moment, through my paintings."

Lim Taek, Chief of Dong-gu District, stated, "I hope this exhibition will be an opportunity for young local artists to demonstrate their artistic capabilities and create cultural value in collaboration with the community," adding, "We will continue to revitalize the local art environment and provide a creative collaboration platform between artists and residents through various art programs and partnerships."
