A man in the United States has sparked outrage after being caught on camera brushing snow off a car window with a 3-month-old baby.

On the 28th (local time), the British daily Daily Mail reported, citing Texas local media KFDM, that a video showing a 25-year-old man wiping a car window with a baby in Port Arthur, Texas, on the 21st was shared on social media platforms.

Although the original video has been deleted, it shows a man wearing black pants and a white short-sleeved T-shirt smiling as he lays the baby on the front and rear car windows, pushing the baby up and down. The Daily Mail reported that the baby barely moves in the video, but appears to slightly wiggle its legs. At the end of the video, the man is seen lifting the baby while smiling.

Local police and child protection agencies are investigating the man. Tim Duriso, chief of the Port Arthur Police Department, explained that the incident occurred in an apartment after a snowstorm hit the area. Police confirmed that the child is the man's biological child. There were also two women present at the scene, and police suspect one of them is the biological mother. Authorities are investigating the man's criminal record and other details of the case, and have applied for an arrest warrant.

Chief Duriso called the video "regrettable" and said, "Many people know that clicks are sought on social media, but this is not something to put a baby on a car window for." Some netizens claimed that the man was holding a doll, not a real child, but police emphasized to local media that "the baby in the video is a real baby and less than one year old."

Criticism of the man poured in on social media. Local netizens expressed outrage with comments such as, "I can't believe someone would do this. This person should never be near any child," "This is horrible. Anyone who thinks this is even remotely funny is out of their mind. They are doing crazy things for likes and views," and "Watching the video made me feel nauseous." There were also calls for punishment not only for the man but also for the two women who were reportedly with him.
