At around 10:15 PM on the 28th, a fire broke out on Air Busan flight ABL391 bound for Hong Kong while preparing for takeoff at the parking area of Gimhae Airport in Gyeongnam.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the fire authorities on the 9th, there were 169 passengers, 6 crew members, and 1 maintenance worker on board at the time, all of whom escaped using the emergency slides.

During the evacuation, three passengers sustained injuries such as back pain and bruises on their limbs and were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The fire authorities responded after receiving a report of a fire near the tail of the aircraft, issued Fire Response Level 1, and extinguished the fire by around 11:30 PM that day.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport closed three parking spots around the accident aircraft out of 40 parking spots at Gimhae Airport and announced that out of the 279 flights scheduled for the Lunar New Year day on the 29th, 8 Air Busan flights were canceled, while the remaining 271 flights operated normally.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, along with fire and police authorities, plan to conduct safety inspections at the site and clearly identify the cause of the accident to implement improvements.
