National Assembly Health and Welfare Committee Visits Uri Aideul Hospital... Checks Holiday Medical Service System

Encouraging Medical Staff and Wishing for Patients' Recovery

Park Jumin, Chair of the National Assembly Health and Welfare Committee, and Kim Yoon, member of the same committee, visited Woori Children’s Hospital in Guro-gu, Seoul on the 26th to inspect the emergency medical system during the Lunar New Year holiday and to encourage medical staff and patients.

During their visit, they received a briefing on the operation of the emergency medical system and held a meeting, guided by Jeong Seonggwan, Chairman of the Woori Children’s Medical Foundation, Baek Jeonghyun, Hospital Director, Kim Jangsik, Administrative Director, Gil Hyunsu, Deputy Director of Administration, and Lee Seungeun, Head of Nursing.


After the meeting, they visited the wards and outpatient clinics to encourage the medical staff and employees and wished for the speedy recovery of the patients. Chair Park especially expressed sympathy to the inpatients and their guardians who could not leave the hospital during the holiday and conveyed deep gratitude to the medical staff and hospital employees who are doing their best even during the holiday period.


Chair Park said, "I deeply appreciate the dedication and hard work of the medical staff who continue to provide care for patients during the Lunar New Year holiday," adding, "We will further deliberate and discuss practical support measures at the National Assembly level to ensure that there is no medical gap in the pediatric care system."


Member Kim also said, "Through this visit, I personally confirmed that the hospital is being operated devotedly to ensure that pediatric patients and their families can receive stable care," and added, "We will continue to strive for policy support to further improve the pediatric medical environment."


Chairman Jeong said, "We deeply appreciate the committee members who visited Woori Children’s Hospital during the holiday period. This is the first time at the National Assembly level that a pediatric and adolescent hospital has been directly visited to inspect the emergency medical system during the Lunar New Year holiday, and such interest and encouragement are a great source of strength," adding, "Our hospital will continue to quietly fulfill its responsibilities. We ask for policy and institutional support to ensure that the pediatric care system can be operated more stably."


Meanwhile, Woori Children’s Hospital, designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare as a specialized pediatric and adolescent hospital, has about 40 medical staff and employees working every day during the holiday period, treating an average of 600 to 700 patients daily.
