Ko Jin-young, 'winless' last year, aims for victory this year Ko Jin-young

Starting from the 30th (local time) for four days, she will participate in the LPGA Tour Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions (total prize money $2 million) held at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club (par 72, 6,624 yards) in Orlando, Florida, USA. The Tournament of Champions is a 'champion of champions' event. Only last year's winners and top performers on the tour participate.

Ko Jin-young is aiming for a revival shot from the opening tournament. Since debuting on the LPGA Tour in 2018, she has won at least one title every year until 2023, but last year she failed to collect a winner's trophy for the first time. She returned to Korea in December last year and focused on training. She has recovered from the wrist injury that troubled her last year. She is expecting her 16th career win after 1 year and 8 months since winning the Cognizant Founders Cup in May 2023. Ko Jin-young said, "Last year was the first time I did not win," and added, "This year, I want to win again."

Besides Ko Jin-young, Yoo Hae-ran, Kim Hyo-joo, Yang Hee-young, and Kim A-rim will also compete. Korea's only victory was when Ji Eun-hee became the inaugural champion in 2019. World No. 1 Nelly Korda (USA) will also challenge for her first tournament win. Korda dominated the LPGA Tour last year with seven wins. Defending champion Lydia Ko (New Zealand) will attempt to win her second consecutive title. Ayaka Furue (Japan), last year's major Evian Championship winner, is also a 'dark horse.'
