On the 26th, Kwon Young-se, the leader of the People Power Party, stated that President Yoon Seok-yeol should be investigated without detention after the prosecution's request to extend the detention period was once again denied.

On the same day, Kwon visited Hannam Police Station in Yongsan, Seoul, to encourage public officials, and spoke to reporters, saying, "If the extension of the detention period is denied, I think it is appropriate for the prosecution to conduct the investigation without detention regarding the parts they find insufficient, rather than rushing to indict."

Kwon emphasized, "The investigation should be completed to determine whether to indict, but if the extension request is denied and they proceed directly to indictment, I think that is a contradictory state in itself." He added, "Since non-detention investigation and voluntary investigation are the fundamental principles of the Criminal Procedure Act, I think it is necessary to proceed carefully and continue the investigation without detention."

Regarding the special prosecutor law proposed by the Democratic Party of Korea, he said, "It is a special prosecutor law that we absolutely cannot accept," and added, "If it is returned for reconsideration, we will definitely reject it, and if a special prosecutor is to be appointed, it should be according to the special prosecutor plan we proposed."

On the issue of the supplementary budget (Chugyeong), he responded, "The supplementary budget that those people (the opposition) are talking about is the livelihood support fund to give 250,000 won to every citizen, isn't it?" and said, "All economic experts oppose it, and it is a part that cannot be accepted as it can be resolved through early budget execution."
