Damyang County, South Jeolla Province, announced on the 26th that a meeting of town and township heads was recently held at the Myeonangjeong Room of the county office, presided over by County Governor Lee Byeongno, with the deputy governor, senior officials, and town and township heads in attendance to discuss and communicate key issues.

On this day, the county held in-depth discussions on major current issues such as the prompt execution of budgets, preparations for dialogue with residents, comprehensive measures for the Lunar New Year holiday, and countermeasures against highly pathogenic avian influenza and winter disasters.

County Governor Lee Byeongno emphasized the need to secure national and provincial funds by discovering new projects and securing budgets through open competitions without local financial burdens, given that the government's tight fiscal policy is expected to continue this year as it did last year. He also called for the prompt execution of budgets to revitalize the local economy and stabilize residents' livelihoods.

Additionally, with the outbreak of avian influenza in Damyang, he requested thorough on-site monitoring to prevent further cases and called for all-out efforts in quarantine measures, especially as many people are expected to visit their hometowns during the holiday season.

Governor Lee said, "The town and township heads meeting is an important occasion to quickly resolve local issues and realize administration that residents can truly feel." He urged, "Town and township heads should thoroughly understand the major projects and current status of their regions, actively inform citizens, and closely communicate with residents while carrying out their duties."
