Check Hospital Opening Hours and Garbage Disposal Dates During Seol Holiday

Guro-gu has actively promoted its cleaning measures and emergency medical system during the holiday period to ensure a safe and healthy Lunar New Year holiday for all residents.

The district has designated January 25 to 30 as the Lunar New Year holiday cleaning period and is operating a comprehensive cleaning situation room during the same period.

The cleaning tasks are divided into three phases: before the holiday (January 16?24), during the holiday (January 25?30), and after the holiday (January 31?February 5). Approximately 680 personnel, including environmental officers, have been deployed to swiftly clean the streets and handle household waste.

Additionally, due to the closure of the Gwangmyeong Resource Recovery Facility and the Sudokwon Landfill Site, garbage collection will be temporarily suspended. Residents are urged to pay attention to the designated garbage disposal dates in their areas to avoid inconvenience.

As previously announced, residents in areas where garbage is collected on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday cannot dispose of household waste on January 29, and those in areas with collection on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday cannot dispose of waste on January 28.

Accordingly, residents in Monday, Wednesday, and Friday collection areas may dispose of garbage starting from 8 p.m. on January 31, and those in Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday collection areas may do so starting from 8 p.m. on January 30.

An emergency medical system is also in operation to prepare for sudden illnesses or accidents requiring treatment.

During the holiday period, a total of 194 hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies in Guro-gu will remain open.

Emergency medical institutions such as Korea University Guro Hospital and Guro Seongsim Hospital will maintain their usual 24-hour treatment system. Additionally, on January 28 (the day before the holiday) and January 29 (the holiday), from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., an emergency medical team will operate at the Guro-gu Public Health Center.

Starting January 25, the health center’s medical information team began operating a phone service to provide information on open hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies.

The service will run until February 2, covering eight days of the holiday period except January 31, including weekends and temporary holidays, for a maximum of nine days.

From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., residents can call the Guro-gu Public Health Center’s medical information team to receive updates on operating hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies within Guro-gu. From January 27 to 30, this service will be available 24 hours a day.

In addition, inquiries can be made via 120 (Dasan Call Center), 129 (Health and Welfare Call Center), or 119 (Emergency Situation Management Center). Information on open hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies can also be found on the Guro-gu Office and Guro-gu Public Health Center websites, the Emergency Medical Portal, and the Emergency Medical Information app.

A Guro-gu official stated, “We will do our best to ensure that all residents have a safe and comfortable holiday,” and added, “We hope everyone enjoys a happy and joyful Lunar New Year with their families.”
